Today’s Pay It Forward benefits Brightpaths, an organization in Athens, Georgia whose goal is to strengthen families and support parents and children. Brightpaths (formerly known as Prevent Child Abuse Athens) is a non-profit, community-based organization whose mission is to prevent all forms of child abuse and neglect in Athens and the surrounding area. They offer parenting classes and connection to resources for families, like a Family Resource Closet that makes diapers, wipes, clothes, car seats, and other essentials available to families who need them. Staff provide prenatal visits and in-home visits to parents of newborns, education classes on child development, positive discipline, and communication, as well as presentations on child abuse prevention and recognizing and reporting child abuse. Brightpaths is doing important work for families in our community. If you would like to donate to them outside of our Pay It Forward project, you can do so here.
